We are mother and daughter, along with granddaughter, who like to hike but who don't always do it. I am the mother, and I am struggling with arthritis and some issues related to the IT band in my left leg. I have been in therapy and I go to various classes at the gym, but I mostly want to get back to hiking.
My daughter, Mary, suggested that we commit to a blog, writing about 52 hikes in a year. 52 unique hikes. We have set no goals other than that we reach that number. We are not affiliated or trying to follow other 52-hike challenges. Mary plans to bring her daughter, Nelly, who is two, on most of her hikes. Thus we are both constrained.
Mary lives in Colorado while I live in Henderson, Nevada, near Las Vegas. Most of our hikes, then, will be in these two states.
